The Market Benchmark is the real Optimal Blue OBMMI market index (daily, via FRED). The
RallyRates Index is our own average across the lender rate sheets we monitor — each row carries a
stamped source_hash, and the panel fills as more lenders are sourced. Two numbers, two
sources, both shown plainly. Pull the board at /api/rates.json.

Common questions
What is the current 30-year fixed mortgage rate national average?
The RallyRates Index 30-year-fixed headline market rate is 7.244% (18 sourced lender(s)) as of 2026-09-25. Market rates are real (Optimal Blue OBMMI, daily, via FRED); lender rows are real published rate sheets, and not all lenders are shown. Not live quotes or offers, and not for use in any lending or financial decision.
Does RallyRates take money from lenders or route you to a lender application?
RallyRates reports lender names + rates + provenance. It does not link out to lender application portals and takes no compensation from the lenders it rates. Market rates are real (Optimal Blue OBMMI, daily, via FRED); lender rows are real published rate sheets, and not all lenders are shown. Not live quotes or offers, and not for use in any lending or financial decision.
Is RallyRates free, and do you collect or sell my personal information?
Yes — RallyRates is free and ad-supported. There is no sign-up, no login, and no “get a quote” form: we don’t ask for or store your name, email, phone, or any borrower details, and we never sell personal data — because we never collect it.
Where do the rates come from?
Named lenders’ own publicly posted rate sheets (monitored politely, about one request a day; a blocked page is treated as a “no”), plus public market benchmarks: Optimal Blue OBMMI, Freddie Mac PMMS, and U.S. Treasury yields via the St. Louis Fed’s FRED. Not all lenders are shown, and every figure is “as of” its timestamp — not a live quote.
